Inspired by a video of an artist who was up for the Turner prize, discussing the traps they had felt being seen in a strictly binary gender position, Alana realized that old, young, black/white, male/female, etc – all binary thinking sooner or later puts us in a trap. This piece is done in the hope that it helps the viewer avoid those personal and sometimes universal positions. AS with all her work, the bubble reminds us all that every experience is “Just a Moment in Time.”
