Dr E Alana James is reinventing herself again! Coming full circle to the first love of her life - art - and bringing back to her images all the lessons of her life as author, researcher, academic and wife. Concerned mostly with the idea of images as vehicles for expression of the truth of our inner and outer life experience.

I passionately believe in celebrating! Every time in every way that we make small steps forward (kaizen in Japanese) we should celebrate our advances. That is what I am doing today.

Yesterday, Margie and I rode to Ballinspittle taking a route that we would not have considered riding even six weeks ago. Not only did we take the route, enjoying it, but we even found it “easy peazy”. To top it all the way, what started as a rainy morning turned into a lovely day, and along the way we found a stretch that no one had picked the blackberries. This is the best season in the five years we have lived in Ireland for blackberries, and so not to miss them on this stretch of road we purchased some small plastic containers and picked our fill.

Simultaneous with the celebration of our increased ability to ride bikes, does my personal celebration of following my spreadsheet and working out with weights four times this last week. I can already see the difference.

Here’s hoping that everyone who reads this blog has something small that they think to celebrate.
